The Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of the company's IT infrastructure. This includes supporting the network, compute, and storage systems, contributing to customer audit questions, setting up permissions in AWS, and ensuring the infrastructure meets the stringent requirements of a CLIA certified lab.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Design, deploy, and maintain network infrastructure to ensure reliable and secure connectivity for all users and devices.
- Manage and support server infrastructure, including physical and virtual servers in a small server room environment.
- Oversee storage infrastructure, ensuring adequate capacity, performance, and data protection measures are in place.
- Implement and manage permissions and access controls in AWS to support secure access to customer test data.
- Respond to and resolve infrastructure-related issues and incidents in a timely manner.
- Contribute to customer audit questions and ensure compliance with CLIA and other relevant regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and optimize infrastructure performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Collaborate with other IT staff and departments to support the overall IT strategy and business objectives.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve the infrastructure.
**Requirements and Qualifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in infrastructure engineering or a related role.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching, and firewall configurations.
- Proficiency in managing Windows and Linux server environments.
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Familiarity with storage solutions (SAN, NAS) and data protection strategies.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services, particularly IAM for managing permissions and access controls.
- Understanding of CLIA requirements and experience in a regulated environment is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Network+) are a plus.
