Job Description

JDP is seeking a Shipping Supervisor Freezer for a major Food manufacturing company located near Sioux City Iowa.


Salary is $75k to 80k with a 10% bonus

Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily leadership and management for Shipping, Material Handling, and Freezer employees.
  • Assign, direct, and monitor work performed by department employees to ensure efficiency and productivity.
  • Conduct performance appraisals, facilitate employee development, and implement disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Address and resolve employee performance or workplace issues in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all employees, including new hires, perform their duties safely, accurately, and with the highest quality standards.
  • Organize and coordinate trailer loads to ensure shipping schedules are met.
  • Communicate daily expectations, directions, and feedback to employees, including any changes to policies or procedures.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with all departments in the plant to ensure smooth operations.
  • Complete required reports accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Enforce safety procedures, conduct accident investigations, and lead departmental safety meetings.
  • Ensure proper use of equipment and adherence to employee protection measures.


Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership experience in shipping, material handling, or related operations.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively assign tasks, provide feedback, and address workplace issues.
  • Knowledge of shipping logistics and scheduling to meet production outputs.
  • Familiarity with safety procedures and accident investigation practices.
  • Ability to train and develop employees, monitor performance, and apply corrective actions as needed.
  • Experience in fostering collaboration across departments for operational efficiency.
  • Proficiency in completing accurate and timely reports.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing work schedules and operational demands.
  • Understanding of company policies and applicable laws related to workplace operations.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe, productive, and high-quality work environment.
