Job Description:

  • Scope Of The Project: SCDHHS is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to manage high-profile executive-level projects, working closely with the agency executive team and external stakeholders.

Daily Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with staff, team members, management, and vendors to gather and manage project plans, metrics, and documentation.
  • Define project objectives and scope, reviewing proposals to determine timelines, budgets, and phases for IT projects.
  • Implement project management processes to ensure timely delivery, budget compliance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Work with technical teams and stakeholders to develop deliverables for audiences with varying technical expertise.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) or Point of Contact (POC) for processes related to the System Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Program Experience: Experience with Medicaid, Social Services, or similar public benefit programs is preferred, including success with IT implementation projects.
  • Technical Knowledge: Experience with the following technologies is desirable:
  • Health Information Technologies
  • Project Management software (e.g., MS Project)

General Duties:

  • Track IT initiatives and projects, ensuring efficient resource utilization and regular reporting.
  • Prepare status reports, monitor progress, and ensure deliverables are completed on schedule.
  • Use Microsoft Office, Atlassian Suite, SharePoint, Salesforce, and other tools for documentation and tracking.
  • Lead projects from initiation to completion following the PMI framework.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years Project Management experience
  • 1+ years experience in network infrastructure, server, and system administration operations
  • Ability to plan, organize, and manage work assignments
  • Strong presentation and reporting skills
  • Ability to prioritize work activities based on organizational goals
  • Strong planning and communication skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Medicaid and healthcare requirements
  • Prior experience with Microsoft products

Required Education / Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or 5 years related work experience
  • PMP Certification

Preferred Education / Certifications:

  • IT certifications a plus
