Top General Contractor with a nationwide footprint is seeking a National Safety Manager.
The Safety Manager will be an integral part of a team that oversees the construction of ground up and remodels of fuel station, c-store, and commercial projects for high profile clients.
The National Safety Manager will be responsible for project quality control, subcontractor coordination, daily logs/project documentation, safety, and inspections.
Select Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee daily subcontractor project assignments
- Ensure a safe workplace that meets company standards and OSHA requirements
- Schedule and monitor material deliveries
- Perform daily quality control walks
- Create punch lists for trades on each phase of construction
- Organize city inspections
- Maintain job site paperwork: daily reports, material order and delivery, employee safety certifications
- Effectively collaborate with clients and other team members, engineers, architects, inspectors, and city officials
- Attend project status meetings and assist in problem solving efforts
Qualifications:
- 5 - 15 years Construction/ Service and Maintenance and/or project management experience.
- Certified in risk management and health/safety management.
- Thorough knowledge of health and safety laws and guidelines.
- Extensive attention to detail to distinguish safety hazards.
- Ability to provide detailed reports and develop safety procedures.
- Good understanding of data analysis and risk assessment.
- Good organizational, leadership and motivational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to recognize when safety conditions need improvement.
- Ability to prioritize tasks especially when handling an accident or incident.
