Project Scheduler

Position Overview:
The Project Scheduler will play a key role in the planning, development, and maintenance of construction schedules for the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) Facilities Services Division . This individual will be responsible for ensuring that construction projects follow structured timelines, meet deadlines, and adhere to best practices in scheduling and project control. The position requires proficiency in Primavera scheduling software, critical path analysis, and time impact assessments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain program schedules, identifying relationships, logic, milestones, and constraints for various construction projects.
- Review Contractor Baseline Schedule submissions to ensure all work scope is identified and logically sequenced, providing written feedback.
- Perform QA/QC on contractor schedule submittals for compliance with contract requirements, including cost loading, resource allocation, schedule content, and constraints.
- Conduct Time Impact Analysis (TIA) for construction schedule changes and participate in schedule negotiations with contractors and OARs.
- Analyze Critical Path and Earned Value to assess project progress and potential delays.
- Monitor construction sites , reviewing contractor progress and reporting status updates to project teams and upper management.
- Ensure effective communication with contractors regarding schedule-related issues, participating in weekly and status meetings.
- Perform regular QA/QC reviews for Program and Master Schedules to maintain accuracy and consistency.
- Coordinate with project teams and department leadership to align project schedules with overall program goals.
- Prepare reports and updates as directed by management.
Minimum Qualifications:
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of full-time paid professional experience in Construction Scheduling for an Owner or General Contractor.
- Experience in educational facility or public works projects is preferred.
- Proficiency in Primavera (latest version) and Microsoft Office Suite .
Required Education (One of the Following):
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management from a recognized institution.
- Bachelor’s degree in any field , with two additional years of experience in Construction Scheduling to compensate for the required education.

- Understanding of cost engineering, scheduling theories, and schedule forensics .
