Job Title: NOC Engineer 1
Work Location: Charlotte, NC
Duration: 6 Months contract to hire
Schedule: 3rd Shift – 3rd shift 4 x 10 schedule (Wed thru Fri Sat nights)
Job Summary
As a NOC Engineer I, you will play a pivotal role in providing foundational support for monitoring and managing core, distribution, carrier last mile, and customer premise voice and data services.
- This position focuses on developing your technical skills and understanding of network operations.
- Your responsibilities include assisting with routine network surveillance, basic system troubleshooting, and documenting incidents and their resolutions.
- You will work closely with senior engineers to escalate issues beyond your scope, learning to prioritize tasks in a dynamic 24x7 network operations center environment.
- Additionally, you will engage in training sessions to enhance your knowledge of deployed technologies and contribute to maintaining operational documentation.
- This role provides a strong foundation for growing your expertise in network operations and prepares you for more complex tasks and responsibilities.
Education & Experience:
- Target Years of Exp: Minimum 5 years’ experience only if they had a 4-year bachelor’s degree in the technology field. 10+ if no Bachelor’s degree.
- Top 5 Must Haves: minimum associate degree in technology, previous fiber or wireless provider NOC experience, has a growth mindset, demonstrates grit and is resourceful
- Require minimum of 10 years of relevant job experience. OSI layer 1 and 3 experience is Required.
