Description:

We are seeking a Product Development Tech for our Brea, CA facility. This person contributes to the completion of routine technical tasks and develops solutions to routine technical problems of specified scope. Their contacts are primarily with immediate supervisor, project leaders, and other professionals in the unit.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes. Produces engineering document, reports, and drawings (flow charts, block diagrams and schematics)

• Prepares reports and summaries, including quantitative analysis

• Provides completion of technical tasks.

• Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks.

• Helps scope equipment for use and complete qualifications

• Works with team to on general lab functions; including calibration, implementation of safety procedures, and routine equipment maintenance

• Notifies manager or team lead upon recognition of factors that may affect project

• Helps develop prototype processes and test set-ups

• Executes designed test protocol and conducts testing

• Effectively documents and communicates test results

• Handles chemicals occasionally using provided protective equipment

• Supports hardware debugging

Requirements:

• A minimum of training from high school or secondary school in a technical discipline with 2-4 years of relevant experience in a relevant R&D setting or A technical degree such as a B.S. degree + 1-2 years of experience in a related field.
• Work history in physical and mechanical testing environment or education in physical/biological sciences
• Experience in a lab setting (involves handling chemicals, wearing personal protective equipment, etc.)
• Familiarity with research/engineering documents (test protocols, coordinate drawings, equipment manuals, etc)
