Akkodis is seeking a Product Engineer for one of our clients in Saint Charles, IL.

Rate Range: $33.65/hour to $40.87/hour; the rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

For this particular assignment, must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

In this role, you will provide engineering support for mechanical and gearing aspects of existing gearmotor product line. This position will be relied upon for technical knowledge and expertise, for minor design updates, re-tooling efforts, testing and qualification support, and other technical support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Analyze and evaluate existing gear and mechanical component designs.
• Conduct design and stress calculations for existing gear designs; primarily in accordance with AGMA specs.
• Create, update, and review drawings and other product documentation.
• Provide manufacturing support and process feedback to ensure production meets design intent and requirements.
• Evaluate and provide feedback on gear and CMM inspection reports.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical or similar) from an accredited college or university, and at least 5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrated and in-depth knowledge of gearing and AGMA calculations. Preference for solid understanding of both the manufacturing process and for design calculations
• Ability to read and interpret gear inspection data and reports
• Ability to ensure alignment of design intent and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to clearly communicate with a wide range of audiences, at multiple locations.

Additional Characteristics

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
