Our client is a product services company specializing in custom software solutions for mid-market to enterprise companies. Their mission is to build products that solve complex business challenges by focusing on the 'why' behind the product to ensure value. We’re looking for a driven and energetic Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our team and play a key role in building our sales pipeline.
Position Overview
As a BDR, you will be the first point of contact for prospective clients, responsible for identifying, engaging, and qualifying leads for custom software development services. This is an inside sales role, ideal for a motivated self-starter eager to build a career in sales. You will focus on mid-market to enterprise companies, driving initial outreach and securing meetings for the sales team.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and manage prospect lists and scrub leads for accurate up to date information.
- Proactively make a high volume of outbound calls and send targeted emails to identify and engage potential customers.
- Research and qualify prospects to ensure alignment with Client’s ideal customer profile.
- Engage prospective clients to understand their challenges and introduce custom software development services.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales activities in the CRM system, tracking progress against KPIs.
- Stay updated on industry trends and service offerings to communicate value effectively.
- Work closely with the sales team to develop and execute strategies for building a robust pipeline.
- Partner with the Director of Business Development to support sales initiatives and ensure a seamless handoff of qualified leads.
Qualifications
- Ideally, 1 year of professional services sales experience, preferably in inside sales or business development (internship experience will be considered).
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional and friendly demeanor.
- Comfortable making a high volume of calls daily and crafting personalized emails.
- Proficient in using CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and other sales enablement platforms.
- Ability to research and identify potential leads effectively.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage time effectively.
- Driven, goal-oriented, and eager to grow within a fast-paced environment.

This position is based in downtown Houston, with an expectation for the candidate to work on-site approximately two days per week.
