Senior Director of Sales and Business Development

Location: Hauppauge, NY

Reports to: Vice President & General Manager

Pay Range: $200,000 - $237,000 (based on experience, skills, and location)

Are you a strategic leader with a passion for driving growth in the Aerospace & Defense industry? At CIRCOR Aerospace & Defense, we’re seeking a Senior Director of Sales and Business Development to lead our revenue growth efforts, build strong customer relationships, and position us for long-term success. As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will develop and execute innovative sales strategies, support new product development, and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our Business Unit.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you’ll take ownership of key sales and business development activities, including:

Strategic Leadership

  • Lead the creation and updates of the Business Unit’s Five-Year Strategic Plan.
  • Develop and execute the Annual Bookings Plan and Sales Forecast for the Annual Budget.

Customer Engagement & Account Management

  • Manage domestic and international accounts, directly or through our Sales Force, Distributors, and Representatives.
  • Build strong, long-term customer relationships and uncover new business opportunities.

New Business Development

  • Drive proposal creation, source selection, and contract negotiations while adhering to AS-9100 NPI Phase Gate processes.
  • Develop market-specific strategies and assess market needs aligned with CIRCOR product capabilities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with engineering and functional leaders to bring new products to market.
  • Support technology roadmaps and ensure the timely introduction of new solutions.

Team Leadership

  • Inspire and manage the Sales Force, focusing on daily bookings, customer forecasts, issue resolution, and quote approvals.


What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a results-driven leader with the following skills and qualifications:

Experience & Expertise:

  • 10+ years of technical sales experience in the Aerospace & Defense industry, with a proven track record in design-to-spec products or systems.
  • 5+ years in management, with experience leading and developing teams in dynamic environments.
  • Knowledge of fluid control valves, hydraulic and electro-mechanical actuation systems, DC Brush/Brushless motors, or similar products.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and business acumen with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
  • Demonstrated success working across functional teams and driving results in a collaborative environment.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field (MBA or equivalent graduate degree preferred).

Other Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel ~30% or as required.
  • Professional references will be requested.
