Job Description:

The HR Generalist is responsible for a wide range of human resources functions, including, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, and HR policy implementation. This role ensures that HR policies are followed and provides guidance on all HR-related matters.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition and effective integration.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employees and managers with HR-related inquiries
  • Address employee concerns and resolve conflicts by providing mediation and ensuring a positive work environment
  • Promote employee engagement initiatives, including feedback surveys, employee recognition, and team-building activities
  • Ensure HR policies and procedures comply with local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., FMLA, ADA, EEO, etc.)
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment laws and industry trends to keep the organization compliant
  • Manage employee files and records, ensuring proper documentation and confidentiality
  • Assist employees with benefits-related questions and claims processing
  • Assist in developing, updating, and communicating HR policies and procedures
  • Ensure consistency and fairness in the application of HR policies across the organization
  • Participate in HR strategy meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of HR processes
  • Update the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) with employee data and track HR metrics
  • Generate reports on HR data, such as turnover rates, headcount, diversity, and compensation analytics
  • Provide analysis and recommendations based on HR metrics and trends
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Must Haves:

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish
  • Union experience
  • 2-5 years of HR Generalist experience
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Pass Background Check (Criminal- State/National, Education Verification, Credit Check) and Drug Screen
  • Proficient in understanding DMV area for employment, detail-oriented and able to work under pressure
  • Proficient with HRIS (Paycom) and Mac products, and a strong understanding of HR policies, including FMLA, EEOC, and OSHA.
  • HR Certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus


Additional Details:

  • Direct Hire role
  • Hybrid schedule
  • Salary expectation $70,000-$80,000K
  • Start ASAP
  • 40 HR work week
