We're looking for a Senior Design Specialist to join a dynamic team in Houston, TX, where you'll have the opportunity to work on impactful water and wastewater projects that make a difference in our communities. This role is perfect for someone who's passionate about solving problems, leading projects, and contributing to innovative infrastructure solutions.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Collaborating with project managers to manage schedules, budgets, and project teams to deliver work on time and within scope.
  • Guiding projects from initial planning through to final design and bid documents.
  • Designing,analyzing, and overseeing projects such as:
    • Water and wastewater treatment plants, including upgrades and retrofits.
    • Water distribution systems with pumping and storage elements.
    • Wastewater collection systems, including lift stations.
    • Hydraulic modeling, master planning, and condition assessments.
  • Acting as the technical lead on projects and serving as Engineer of Record.
  • Working closely with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure all project requirements are met.
  • Mentoring junior engineers and providing feedback on designs, reports, and deliverables.
  • Preparing and reviewing technical specifications, reports, and cost estimates.
  • Overseeing construction-related activities to make sure everything runs smoothly.

What We're Looking For:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or a related field).
  • A Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas.
  • At least 6 years of experience in water and wastewater engineering.
  • Strong communication skills-you'll be working with clients, contractors, and agencies, so clear and professional communication is key.
  • Solid technical writing skills for creating reports and documentation.
  • A track record of managing multiple projects, budgets, and schedules efficiently.
  • A problem-solver with great organizational skills who thrives in both team settings and independent work.
