Manager : VP of Brand Marketing

Location: Remote (company headquartered in St. Louis, MO)

Native Pet is re-imagining pet nutrition for a new generation of pet parents. We make dog and vet approved supplements to help consumers nourish their pets. We are in high growth mode, scaling across digital and brick-and-mortar channels; including Amazon, Chewy, Target, Thrive Market and PetSmart. We’ve grown at least 2.5x each year since 2017 and have our sights set on $100M in sales. We recently closed Series B funding to scale our operations. We’re rapidly expanding our team to manage the brand growth and are excited to bring in candidates who are interested in CPG x Pet.


About the Role

Native Pet is looking for a Brand Manager, Innovation who has experience scaling an emerging brand via effective product marketing. Leveraging consumer trends and insights, this strategic leader will be responsible for identifying competitive opportunities and gaps within innovation to ultimately develop the go-to-market strategy and commercialization plan for new products globally. With a deep understanding of bringing products to life, the Brand Manager, Innovation will own the product differentiation, messaging, and positioning while collaborating closely with the creative team to develop assets across all channels that speak to the evolving needs of our customers. Our future Brand Manager, Innovation should know how to plan, execute, and lead a cross-functional team towards high impact product messaging across multiple marketing touchpoints and ensuring our innovations succeed. This leader will play a critical role in supporting Native Pet’s go-to-market strategies for 2025 product launches and beyond while also helping define and distinguish the positioning of our active portfolio products.


What You'd Do

  • Partner with cross-functional innovation team to assess market opportunities and consumer needs for new product concepts
  • Own competitive analysis and research by monitoring trends and innovation opportunities to guide the development of new products and refine existing offerings
  • Define clear and actionable product marketing positions for Native Pet’s product launches, distinguishing from its competitors and creating a unique brand image for consumers
  • Lead the go-to-market strategy and commercialization plan, develop into integrated marketing campaign plans, and lead multi-channel marketing team to GTM success
  • Work with VP of Brand Marketing to improve overall product marketing performance by studying, evaluating, and solidifying Native Pet’s product strategies
  • Be the internal expert and champion of all things product messaging by evolving and refining Native Pet’s product messaging frameworks to best suit the needs of marketing that will attract new-to-brand customers
  • Collaborate with creative team to develop compelling assets (i.e. packaging, digital content, marketing collateral) for product launches
  • Develop clear sub-brand product guidelines and consumer friendly hierarchies for Native Pet’s evolving portfolio offerings that streamline the wayfinding and shopping process for our consumers
  • Work with sales-channel leads to create effective briefs for sales and marketing materials to support and promote the product externally
  • Manage product campaign planning and briefing with all internal channel owners and external agency campaign partners
  • Partner with cross functional and occasional agency teams to ideate and produce highly effective online and offline product messaging strategies that advance Native Pet’s business objectives: from awareness through to loyalty


What Your Background Looks Like:

  • 6+ years of product marketing or brand management experience at an omnichannel CPG brand
  • Strong experience working with premium innovation or product development teams in a high-growth brand (agency and client side is a plus)
  • Deep understanding of consumer behavior, market research methodologies, and competitive analysis
  • Strong ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced and remote environment
  • Proven track record in commercializing new products and executing successful product launches online and in store
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment
