Role Summary: The Account Supervisor will independently lead $300-600K in retainer accounts or projects. The Account Supervisor will manage multiple responsibilities including generating consistent media exposure for clients, supporting the development of key themes, campaign strategy, client relations and managing 1-2 members of the team.
Responsibilities:
- Client Service:
- Independently lead $300-600K in client account revenue
- Serve as lead point of contact and run calls for the client accounts, they are leading
- Collaborate on client campaign strategy
- Draft PR plans for the accounts they are leading
- Functions as a main or secondary of contact (for clients and internally) for PR initiatives
- Supports the lead point of contact for other team client accounts
- Participates in regular client update calls and meetings as well as new client discovery meetings for other accounts they support
Media Relations:
- Identifies and secures an array of media placements including high-profile and feature opportunities for clients across the team
- Delegates tasks and helps to manage Account Coordinators, Account Executives and interns
- Review editorial calendars, awards, conferences and media lists prepared by the team
- Assists in the development of strategic PR plans and campaign development for team accounts they support
- Develops and maintains relationships with all media outlets including trades, broadcast and national media
- Develops unique story angles and timely pitches to generate consistent client exposure
- Assists clients to media events and tours and is responsible for finalizing briefing books and prep
- Responsible for book launches for clients
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Delegates tasks and manages the performance of the Account Coordinators and Account Executives and interns
- Responsible for providing feedback and performance coaching
Writing:
- Reviews and edits company generated content before sharing with clients
- Drafts press releases, award nominations, social media posts and other client related materials, when needed
Administrative Support:
- Assists internal team members with other clients, business development and Company projects
Company Ambassador:
- Acts as a steward of the JConnelly brand, consistently representing and reflecting the Company’s core values, approach and high standards of excellence in all client, media and public interactions
- Performs other duties as assigned
Education: College degree; or equivalent related business experience
Experience & Expertise:
- Minimum 4-6 years successful industry-related experience with an emphasis on managing client relationships
- Experience with a wide range of clients to include, but not limited to, the consumer industry
- Demonstrated ability to organize/prioritize work, handle details accurately, follow up with minimum supervision, and complete tasks within specified deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving and customer service skills
- Proficiency with various software applications including the full Office suite, as well as social media channels
- Proficiency in PR related software including but not limited to Cision, Meltwater, TrendKite Sprout, Hootsuite etc.
