Human Resources Generalist


Location: Bethesda, MD (Hybrid)

Job Type: Temporary, long term


Job Summary: Our client in Bethesda, MD, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Human Resources Operations Manager to join their team on an interim basis. This key role will support a variety of HR functions, including immigration/visa work, employee relations, HRIS management, benefits administration, and HR initiatives. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about providing exceptional HR support.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the immigration process, including visa applications and renewals, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Handle employee relations matters, providing guidance and support to employees and management on a wide range of issues.
  • Manage non-exempt employee processes, including timekeeping, payroll, and compliance with labor laws.
  • Oversee the HRIS system, ensuring accurate data management and reporting.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health, wellness, and retirement plans.
  • Lead and support various HR initiatives aimed at improving employee engagement and organizational effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance and best practices.
  • Provide support for other HR functions and special projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an HR Generalist or in a similar HR role.
  • HR Certification or Degree
  • Strong understanding of immigration processes and visa work.
  • Experience in employee relations and handling non-exempt employee matters.
  • Proficiency in HRIS management and data reporting.
  • Knowledge of benefits administration and HR initiatives.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
