Job SummaryUnder general supervision, performs a variety of human resources support activities. The company also has a variety of voluntary benefits for employees to choose from.Compensation$60,000.00 to $65,000.00 per year DOE.ResponsibilitiesAdminister the pre-employment hiring process, order background reports, coordinate physicals, drug screens, and orientationsConduct new hire orientation and process all required paperwork toPayroll for SAP data entryConduct new hire orientation and other HR related dutiesat a variety of locations as neededResponsible for recruitment of hourly positions for ready mix concrete operations and aggregates operationsCreate and maintain personnel, Driver Qualification Files (DQF), and medical files; purge termination files according to retention periodsProcess new hires through E-Verify online portal and maintain I-9 FormsExpedite post-accident drug screen testing results to managers in a timely fashionMaintain DQF files and for all commercial drivers and DOT regulated Employees, including; Annual MVR processing and medical certificationsMaintain relationships with contracted industrial clinics and MROAssist with job fairs and plant-related events, as necessaryAssist Managers as necessary with employee meetings/disciplinary actionsContinuously improve administrative systems and processes, consistent with internal policies and proceduresConduct annual audits of personnel and DQF files, I-9 forms, and other various processesPrepare and maintain employee communications for the Regional office and plant locationsAnswer incoming calls to the HR line and direct to the appropriate department (Benefits, Payroll, WC, Safety, etc.)Order and maintain annual labor law posters for the Regional office and plant locationsRespond to unemployment claims, when necessaryProcess vendor invoices to ensure they are accurate, processed, and paid in a timely fashionProvide quality service to both internal and external customersEducationBachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Labor Industrial Relations, Public Administration, Social Science or a closely related field preferred.Requirements/QualificationsBasic knowledge of state and federal law including but not limited to Fair Labor Standards Act, Title VII, EEO and leave lawsMethods and techniques for personnel record keeping and filingKnowledge of practices and procedures in an office environmentAbility to work at varying start times based on business needStrong MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skillsInterpersonal skills, tact, patience, and courtesy; ability to build professional relationships with othersStrong oral and written communications skillsAbility to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently; strong organizational skillsHighly confidential and ethicalPreferred:Related experience in construction/building materialsKnowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and requirements for DOT regulated personnelHRIS experienceConditions of EmploymentSuccessful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
