Job Description

Meta is seeking a talented attorney to work on our AI legal team to serve as a subject matter expert on a range of issues related to artificial intelligence. This role's primary function is to help identify, assess, and prepare for new legal obligations impacting AI. This role includes opportunities to advise Meta’s product and business teams on emerging requirements around artificial intelligence. An ideal candidate for the role will have a solid understanding of core AI and data ethics principles and an understanding of online technologies. The candidate must be a clear communicator and demonstrate experience in collaborating across functions, including Meta’s product and business teams. You will join a collegial and growing team of lawyers who identify, evaluate and address legal risk in light of emerging laws, compliance obligations and policies.Associate General Counsel, AI Responsibilities Serve as a company expert on global privacy and AI-related laws and regulationsCounsel product and business teams on preparation for emerging legal regimesHelp respond to regulatory inquiries and investigations related to AIProvide legal advice and day-to-day support to internal stakeholdersMinimum Qualifications J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one US state bar5+ years of legal experience, including at a law firm and/or in-house experience with internet or technology companies (applicable litigation, regulatory, or product counseling will be considered)Business judgment and client counseling experienceExperience with AI technologies and with global privacy and AI-related laws, regulations, and industry guidelines, especially including those relevant for social media, internet and technology companiesPreferred Qualifications Experience working on AI-powered productsExperience working proactively, independently and reliably under tight timeframes in a fast-paced environmentExperience collaborating in a multi-stakeholder environment, navigating complex issues, and driving high-impact projectsExperience managing complex projectsExperience demonstrating initiative in driving solutions cross-functionally$198,000/year to $266,000/year + bonus + equity + benefitsIndividual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
