The person in this role will be the #2 to the general counsel and will be responsible for working with many departments within the firm.Responsibilities:New fund launches and other capital raising initiatives (recent initiatives have included BDCs, CLOs, commingled funds, funds-of-one, rated note feeders, and segregated mandates);Supporting and expanding existing products;Structuring/managing/negotiating joint ventures, M&A activity, balance sheet investments, etc.;Supporting the investment team (e.g., private investments, responding to liability management exercises, etc.);Negotiating a broad range of ordinary course agreements (e.g., NDAs, vendor agreements, third-party marketer and distribution agreements, etc.); andProviding advice and counsel to the compliance team.Requirements:Have excellent academic and professional credentials, which will include extensive experience as in house lawyer at an asset manager;Know how to establish and support private investment funds;Deeply understand the Investment Advisers Act and will have working knowledge of the Investment Company Act and the Securities Act;Be aware of current developments in US and European regulation related to the investment management industry;Be a skillful negotiator of commercial/operational contracts; andBe licensed to practice law in New York.Seniority level DirectorEmployment type Full-timeJob function LegalIndustries Investment Management#J-18808-Ljbffr
