Machinist, Junior Key Role: Perform the activities of a skilled trade Machinist to manufacture various products per established facility processes, including set-up, fabrication, and inspection utilizing the operations of CNC mills, lathes, and other equipment. Contribute new knowledge to programs and projects. Apply knowledge of policies, procedures, and practical application of the general and specific technical aspects of the job to complete varied and complex work. Make recommendations for new procedures. Work independently within established procedures and practices. May lead tasks and informally mentor others. Basic Qualifications: Knowledge of CNC and manual machinery operationsAbility to review engineering drawings for completeness and interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)Ability to inspect and verify all products by using standard inspection equipment and techniquesAbility to set up and operate manual machine shop equipment, including lathes, milling machines, saws, and power toolsAbility to pay strict attention to detail in a manufacturing environmentAbility to obtain a Secret clearanceHS diploma or GED Additional Qualifications: Experience with inspection techniques and identification of non-conformance featuresExperience with the use of CAM software and the application to CNC machinesExperience with 5S and other Lean Manufacturing Concepts Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. The projected compensation range for this position is $51,600.00 to $106,000.00 (annualized USD).
