Job Details

Skilled Care Unit position at Weirton Medical Center
Job involves passing medications, wound care, foley, IVs, Peg tubes, ostomy care for RNs and LPNs; patient care, feeding, bathing, pericare for CNAs.
Common diagnoses include weakness, fractures, COPD exacerbation.

Job Requirements

Must have 1 year of experience
Must have WV Cares prior to start
LPNs: Prefer IV certified; will be asked to perform a competency on site.

Schedule Information

Shifts: RNs/LPNs 7-7, CNAs 6-6
Weekend Requirements: Every Other Weekend
Holiday Requirements: May be asked to go in the Holiday Rotation
Travelers are asked to be flexible and help fill gaps in permanent scheduling.

Unit Specific Information

1 day of unit/department specific orientation with Educator, 1 day with preceptor
1 charge nurse per shift (12 Hr Shifts)
Parking: On site and free; 12 hr day/night rotate, weekends as scheduled

# of Beds/Residents: 33 - 11 private; 11 semi-private
EMR: Community Works
Ratios: RNs: 1:8-10, LPNs: 1:8-10, CNAs: 1:8-10
Interdisciplinary Team includes PT/OT/SLP, Pulmonary or Cardiac Rehab, Case Managers, Social Workers, Dieticians
RT onsite, will do breathing treatments and manage any respiratory equipment.
