Geriatrics Nurse Practitioner at Frontera Search Partners, LLC summary:

The Geriatrics Nurse Practitioner provides specialized healthcare services primarily focused on conducting non-treatment exams and assessments for veterans. This role includes interview-based evaluations, physical assessments, and administrative work related to reporting and documentation within the practitioner's own office. Key qualifications include certification from AANP, state licensure, and experience in family or internal medicine, with a particular emphasis on musculoskeletal, diabetes, and cardiovascular conditions.

Must be within 50 miles

Provider s own office locations- Provider must have their own office

  1. Hazelhurst- 10 days per week needed (multiple openings)

Details:

  • Need is on a PRN basis, ongoing
  • Willing to accept these specialties:
  • family medicine,
  • internal medicine
  • orthopedic surgery,
  • anyone with a background in general medicine, or experience with compensation and pension.
  • Upload Board Certification at time of presentation
  • Two (2) options for coverage
  • Schedule Veterans within your own practice
  • Option to work days(4-hours) and/or full days(8-hours)
  • One-Time non-treatment C&P exams + separation health assessments
  • Exams are primarily interview-based with some physical assessment: range of motion testing, muscle strength testing.
  • No prescribing, no treatment
  • Quick credentialing & onboarding
  • DMA certification available (can get CME credits) will need to obtain once privileged if not already certified- Client does not reimburse for DMA certifications or the portal training before starting
  • Use of Goniometer required
  • Familiar with Musculoskeletal, Diabetes, and Cardio required
  • Proficient in METs testing, evaluating and diagnosing respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions.
  • Own personal laptop (NO MACs)
  • Training shall be provided for all Reporting/Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs)
  • Reporting/DBQs must be submitted within 48 hours upon exam completion - no narrative report. End product is completion of standardized form(s).
  • Record review is required in most cases
  • Follow up administrative work will be required on a regular basis (addendums, medical opinions, and reading diagnostics)
