Job Summary:
A dynamic and experienced Supply Chain Manager is needed to oversee and optimize supply chain operations. Job Objective:
The Supply Chain Manager (SCM) is responsible for setting supply chain policies, defining strategic objectives, and leading initiatives to improve overall efficiency. This role involves implementing projects to optimize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), improving procurement processes, inventory controls, and distribution systems, and enhancing planning and forecasting reliability. The SCM will drive continuous improvement to support business growth and expansion.
Essential Job Functions:
- Spearhead innovative supply chain strategies to optimize operations, enhance efficiency, and drive cost savings.
- Oversee supply chain operations, including sourcing, procurement, and material management.
- Collaborate with Sales and Production teams to proactively address potential delays, product issues, or operational risks.
- Develop and implement inventory management and cost reduction strategies in coordination with operations, production, quality, and sustainability teams.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and logistics partners to ensure a seamless supply chain.
- Lead contract negotiations and vendor performance reviews to maximize service quality and cost efficiency.
- Enhance interdepartmental coordination and communication to improve operational workflows.
- Develop and manage departmental budgets with a focus on financial efficiency and cost optimization.
- Safeguard finished goods inventory and oversee physical inventory counts.
- Ensure strict compliance with all regulatory agencies and industry standards, positioning the company as an industry leader.
Training, Development, and Safety:
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Enforce compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and regulatory requirements.
- Provide coaching, education, and training on SOPs and regulatory compliance for direct reports.
- Identify and coordinate required training in collaboration with management and safety teams.
- Supervise and support the development of direct reports, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Manage performance evaluations and ensure compliance with labor laws regarding rest and meal breaks.
- Promote a proactive culture of safety and sustainability by implementing best practices and enforcing compliance measures.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, regulations, and emerging best practices.
General Administration:
- Actively participate in company-wide meetings, one-on-ones, safety meetings, and customer service discussions.
- Maintain a clean and hazard-free work environment, addressing safety concerns promptly.
- Exhibit strong attendance and punctuality as a key leader within the organization.
- Take on additional responsibilities as required, contributing to the overall success of the business.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of supply chain management experience, preferably in the perishable food industry, wine or beverage.
- Proven ability to lead and manage multiple projects, budgets, and strategic initiatives.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, develop, and motivate teams.
- Expertise in inventory management, purchasing, and national contract negotiations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, CRM software, and ERP/Business Central platforms.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
