As the Buyer, E-Commerce, you will ensure the successful development and execution of financial and assortment plans and strategies to meet or exceed sales, gross margin, and inventory goals for the Armani Exchange in the US and Mexico. The Buyer is the expert of their division and is a true business owner who knows their customer and their market. The Buyer is responsible for partnering with the global team to ensure the region’s needs are embedded in the Global Armani assortment strategies.
Description of Responsibilities
Merchandising/Buying
- Partner with the AX Merchandising/Planning teams to create and execute a merchandise assortment plan for Armani Exchange US and Mexico that supports the organization’s financial, merchandising, and marketing objectives, including the development of the season line assortment plan of the Online Exclusive program
- Manage the entire product lifecycle, including samples for photo shoots, markdowns, end-of-season sales, and internal sales events
- Anticipate inventory opportunities, communicate recommendations, and take corrective action with the guidance of AX Merchandising and Ecommerce teams
- Collaborate cross functionally to plan and execute seasonal marketing strategies, based on key brand moments, seasonality, forecasts, selling trends, and available inventory
Product Knowledge
- Create and present Product Knowledge materials that convey the seasonal priorities, including floorset concepts, key investments, new commercial groups, etc.
- Provide seasonal Product and Shopping/Gift Guides in collaboration with the Site Operations team
Analysis and Reporting
- Create and maintain comprehensive weekly, monthly, and yearly reporting on key merchandising metrics
- Analyze selling and inventory reports on a weekly basis to maintain a solid understanding of the business
- Produce and deliver seasonal buying recaps and end-of-season recaps to senior management
- Perform continuous competitor and market analysis by researching for emerging trends in color, materials, and categories, in addition to price points and promotional campaigns from competitors
Background/Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Must have at least 3-5 years of buying experience in a retail environment, preferably with 2+ years of experience in E-commerce or Omni buying.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word required.
- Must possess the ability to understand and act upon financial retail indicators such as sales, gross margin, inventory productivity and sell-through
- Advanced business acumen and analytical skills, ability to control financial metrics required to achieve profit objectives
- Team player able to work effectively and collaboratively across all departments to meet goals and deadlines.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with stakeholders from different departments and seniorities

The appointed candidate will be offered a salary within the range of USD $100,000.00 - $110,000.00 based on experience, plus the opportunity for a bonus, a comprehensive benefits package including: medical, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, various paid time off programs, employee discount/perks and retirement plans with employer contributions.
