About the Emergency Veterinary Technician Role:
We are looking to add to our growing hospital and are in search of a Veterinary Nurse (Veterinary Technician) to work in our Emergency Department.
Schedule & Compensation
Schedule: Wednesday-Saturday, 2 PM - 12 AM
Compensation: Starts at $25.30/hr *includes shift differential*
What You’ll Do
- Triage - identify emergencies and illnesses
- Perform various treatments on an in-house and outpatient basis
- Anesthesia: Induction, monitoring, troubleshooting, recover patients
- Administer medications
- Assist in procedures
- Position and capture of radiographs
- Communicate with clients, and team members (verbally and written)
- Fear Free handling: safe, stress free interactions for team members, clients, and patients
- 2+ years experience in emergency veterinary medicine
- Current CVT/LVT/RVT preferred or educational equivalent
- Broad knowledge of basic small animal medicine (pharmacology, proper restraint/handling, venipuncture, laboratory testing)
- Thorough understanding and knowledge of medical terminology, medications, and disease processes
- Attention to detail and a calm demeanor
- Ability to work in a fast paced, environment
- Proficient computer skills
