About the Veterinary Assistant Emergency Overnight Role  


We are looking to add to our growing hospital and are in search of Veterinary Assistants with approximately a year of experience with dog and cat handling/restraint in a clinical atmosphere to join our Emergency Overnight Department. 

  

Schedule & Compensation 

         Schedule:  Weds-Sat 10 pm - 8 am

         Compensation: From $23.00/hr *includes shift differential

    

What You'll Do

  • Assist Nurses and Doctors in appointments, procedures and diagnostics
  • Assist with anesthesia, surgery and discharge preparation
  • Communicate with clients, and team members (verbally and written)
  • Patient care responsibilities including laundry, husbandry, walking dogs, cleaning cages
  • Perform digital radiographs
  • Stocking of supplies in various locations throughout the hospital
  • Ensure cleanliness and integrity of the hospital
Requirements
  • Experience and comfort with patient (dog and cat) restraint and handling required
  • Basic knowledge of small animal medicine (proper restraint/handling, diagnostics, laboratory testing)
  • Sound knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and disease processes
  • Proficient computer skills
