Position Summary:
The Sales Account Manager develops a thorough understanding of the local market, identifies potential clients, and employs consultative selling techniques to deliver tailored HVAC and refrigeration solutions. This role focuses on prospecting for new business, maintaining long-lasting client relationships, and selling repair work, project work, service agreements, and renewals. Collaborating with internal teams, the Sales Account Manager is key to achieving monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets while ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Sales Strategy & Planning:
- Develop and implement sales strategies focused on maintenance agreements, repair work, and project solutions to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
- Leverage a structured sales process to prospect, qualify, and target new business opportunities.
- Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to foster trust and loyalty.
- Conduct research to understand prospective customers' decision-making processes and tailor presentations to their needs.
- Provide continuous customer engagement, addressing inquiries, resolving complaints, and identifying opportunities for additional services.
- Technical Expertise:
- Evaluate mechanical systems to recommend appropriate repair approaches, maintenance requirements, or system modifications.
- Utilize technical experts as needed to recommend maintenance programs or identify project opportunities.
- Sales Presentations & Proposals:
- Prepare and deliver persuasive sales presentations and proposals, ensuring alignment with customer requirements.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to achieve mutually beneficial agreements.
- Service Agreement Management:
- Sell, manage, and renew service agreements, increasing coverage or services as customer needs evolve.
- Ensure accurate and timely execution of contracts and supporting documentation prior to project handovers.
- Market Development & Insights:
- Attend trade shows, conferences, and industry events to promote Temp-Con services and generate leads.
- Collaborate with marketing to develop and maintain updated promotional materials.
- Research and provide insights to improve market penetration and identify new growth opportunities.
- Collaboration with Operations:
- Work with operations to ensure customer expectations are consistently met or exceeded.
- Monitor customer invoices to maintain visibility and assist with resolving collection issues as needed.
- CRM Utilization:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the CRM system, including prospecting activities, sales progress, quotes, and communications.
- Reporting:
- Provide regular updates to the Business Development Manager on sales activities, forecasts, and achievements.
- Other Duties:
- Represent Temp-Con professionally, ethically, and safely in all interactions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the organization's goals.

Requirements
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience:
- A minimum of 3-5 years of successful sales experience, preferably in a service-based or technical industry.
- Knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, and mechanical systems is an advantage.
- Demonstrated performance in achieving sales goals and new market development.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Strong ability to research markets, identify target customers, and create individualized sales strategies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong negotiation and persuasion abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM software (Salesforce or equivalent).
- Self-motivated with a high energy level and a results-oriented mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
- Knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems is a plus but not required.
Physical and Travel Requirements: - Ability to perform essential job functions without posing significant risk to health or safety.
- Extended periods of driving and entering/exiting vehicles.
- Frequent movement through customer facilities, including climbing ladders, walking on uneven surfaces, bending, kneeling, and working in confined spaces.
