Job Description

Overall Summary

Responsible for integrated product and logistics support activities, tasks, and assignments to design or analyze operational solutions for projects such as maintenance optimization, life-cycle support modeling, Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), maintenance/service process and methods analysis, life-cycle cost containment, IPS resourcing for capacity/surge enhancement, spare parts optimization/obsolescence management, and configuration/information management.

Primary and Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Review contractual commitments, customer specifications, or related information to determine logistics or support requirements.

o Analyze logistics processes.

o Delegate task requirements to IPS team members.

o Oversight on performance of 3PL subcontractors performing on IPS deliverables.

o Manage, verify, and ensure accuracy of IPS product outputs by IPS team.

• Determine logistics support requirements, such as research details, IPS staffing needs to execute projects, and facilitate service and maintenance plans for a full range of products.

• Manage the configuration management and workflow for all CDRLs submissions, reviewing, and approval across multiple contracts spanning various customers.

• Propose logistics solutions based on front-end analysis and customer requirements and ensure compliance with Data Item Description (DID), Military Standards (MIL-STD), and DoD contractual requirements.

• Provide logistics technology or information for effective and efficient life-cycle support of product, equipment, or system manufacturing or service-related processes/procedures.

• Develop logistic metrics, internal analysis tools, or key performance indicators for business development or project financial status.

• Conduct logistics analysis and studies, such as motion (time) studies, Level of Repair Analysis (LORA), Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA), Failure Mode Effect and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), effort, and evaluate information to determine compliance with standards, processes, and regulations.

• Responsible for the administration of the CDRL, contract management, CDRL review, metrics management, and data archival.

• Observes performance of system maintenance in relation to contract performance requirements.

• Researches technical specifications, related program documents, engineering drawings, 3-D animations/job aids, and maintenance videos.

• Adheres to all quality and safety standards.

• Supports other projects and performs duties as assigned.

• Available for limited travel (typically < 10%).

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities

• May participate in cross-functional teams and work groups.

• May be required to process data by compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, or verifying information or data.

• Must keep up-to-date technically and apply new technologies to the job.

• Provide documentation, detailed instructions, drawings, or specifications to support interpretation of how products work, are constructed, assembled, maintained, or to be used.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Responsible to oversee one or more IPS team members in daily assigned tasks, including research and analysis of technical data.

• Ensure productivity, quality, and accuracy of assigned work.

• Provide performance feedback as needed and during annual performance reviews of assigned personnel.

• Participate as a key member of proposal teams providing technical summaries and cost estimations.

• Attend and participate with internal and external IPTs, meetings and in some cases, host IPTs and team meetings.

Years Experience

15 years’ managerial experience with a minimum of 7 years of experience with Integrated Logistics/Product Support and database management preferred.

Level of Education

Associate degree in business, and/or Technical/Professional Writing, Bachelor’s preferred.

Experience / Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

• Experience with the identification, retrieval, review, interpretation, and implementation of statutes, regulations, or standard operating procedures in a military, DoD civilian, or commercial environment.

• Retrieving information- Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining technical information from all relevant sources.

• Knowledge of interpreting statements of work, Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL), and Performance Requirements Documents (PRD).

• Able to work independently on a weekly basis.

• Competent technical aptitude in automotive, mechanical, and electrical principles.

• Possesses excellent communication skills.

• Possesses strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in standard business software packages (e.g., Microsoft Office).

• Must be able to speak, read, and understand English.

• Some familiarity with the use of XML, SGML, or HTML editing software and document development.

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job:

• Work is accomplished in a typical office environment with adequate environmental (heating/cooling) control. The noise level in the work environment is moderate due to noises associated with computer equipment and environmental control systems.

• This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

• Access to operations and manufacturing areas may involve exposure to loud noises, dust, fumes, oils, and fluctuations in temperature.

• Work may involve performing assigned duties at customer locations to include Government facilities which may require special screening and minimal travel for extended periods up to 2-3 weeks at a time, both in CONUS and Overseas locations.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:

• Performs all work in accordance with safety and workmanship and good housekeeping specifications.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee alternates between sitting and standing/walking for long periods of time.

• This position requires the ability to occasionally lift parts or components of OEM equipment and office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.

Training

• New employee safety orientation and training on special tools or software required for job performance.

• Ability to pass OPSEC Training requirement.

• Ability to pass Defense Acquisition University (DAU) Level II Logistics Certification.
