ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Package products being shipped and protect them from damage in shipping. Ship products in the most economical ways
• Schedule with outgoing freight companies (Fed Ex, UPS, Holland, etc.)
• Load all packages on trucks when tow motor operation is required.
• Practice safety when operating the tow motor or when lifting heavy packages
• Relay all shipping issues to the supervisor, sales representative or customer care specialist
• Provide shipping tracking data when necessary
• Open packages to verify contents against the packing slip and purchase order
• Receive raw materials, receive outsourced products and handle customer-returned products
• Distribute package contents to the appropriate requesting individual or department
• Notify supervisor of any issues regarding shipments
• Follow all employee guidelines and Quality Systems Regulations (QSR's) as defined by Volk's practices, policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) to ensure customer requirements and FDA (or equivalent) regulations are met
• Work well with various internal and external engineering and other support disciplines to perform troubleshooting, data collection and to resolve assembly problems.
• Assist in training of employees at the discretion of the supervisor
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) or minimum 1 year of experience as working in a shipping and receiving environment
• Familiarity with shipping vendors and requirements
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• The ability to read and comprehend simple instructions such as Manufacturing Assembly Instructions, Quality Standards and Standard Operating Procedures.
• The ability to perform simple writing tasks such as recording log entries, lot numbers and dates.
• The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
