Responsibilities
•Follow-Through : Track deadlines, follow up on outstanding tasks, and ensure cases are moving forward with attention to detail.
•Discovery Mastery : Manage the discovery process, including drafting and responding to discovery requests, document production, and organizing discovery for litigation.
•Work with lawyers to prepare for trial by conducting research on legal articles, preparing and organizing exhibits, organizing and coordinating witnesses, filing motions, and assisting with client meetings
•Draft legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence such as interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits under the guidance of a lawyer
•Conduct interviews with clients to gather information about their legal issues
Qualifications
•Minimum of 3 years of family law and litigation experience in Illinois .
•Proficiency in discovery , and understanding its importance in family law cases.
•Familiarity with Clio, Microsoft Office Suite, and legal research tools is a plus.
•At least 3 years of experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting
•Strong oral and written communication skills
•Must have great time-management skills, and organizational skills
