This role is instrumental in shaping our digital storytelling efforts, ensuring consistent, trustworthy, and engaging content across multiple channels. Reporting to the Senior Manager Digital Content Strategy, the Digital Content Manager oversees the development, enhancement and maintenance of audio, visual and written assets, including blog content, social media posts, web pages, videos, and our podcast. They lead a team of freelancers and full-time staff to achieve content goals, exceed industry benchmarks and continuously improve.

About the Role: Duties include but are not limited to:
- Manages all aspects of digital content development, including ideation, budgeting, calendar distribution/socialization, team assignments, project management, editing/coaching, and optimization.
- Oversees web page, blog, social media, podcast and video content, collaborating across the organization to support ASSP’s strategic goals.
- Develops, documents, and implements content tactics that align with campaign, sponsor, media, and business requirements.
- Distributes between 50-100 content assets each month, leveraging SEO/AI, email marketing, video, podcast, and social media best practices, as well as relationships with strategic partners.
- Analyzes and reports on content metrics, communicating results to relevant team members and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Maintains content after publication, ensuring important information is up-to-date, trustworthy, and accessible.
- Leads a team of contractors specializing in written and video content.
- Develops and maintains relationships with member volunteer contributors, industry influencers and other subject matter experts.
- Partners closely with stakeholders across teams to deliver best-in-class user experiences for members and customers.
- Stays ahead of content trends and recommends new ways to meet audience needs/create impactful brand experiences.
- Establishes, documents, and implements repeatable production processes to ensure team agility amid competing priorities.
- Provides training and continuing education opportunities for staff members to better understand the content landscape and improve as creative professionals.
- Directly supervises two employees.
- Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English, public relations, or a related field.
- Minimum six years of related experience with three years of demonstrated experience. creating, monitoring, and/or managing social media and creating digital content.
- At least two years of experience managing a creative team.
- Social media or other content certification preferred.
- A background leading digital content development on behalf of brands, including demonstrated experience with social media, video production, long- and short-form article publishing, landing pages, podcasting, and email marketing.
- Strong project management skills.
- Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail and design.
- Strong budget development and management skills.
- A coaching mindset and ability to work in an editorial capacity with content producers to help them advance.
- A creative and data-driven approach to content development with a commitment to quality.
- Experience using content management systems (e.g., Sitefinity, WordPress, Drupal).
- Understanding of search and digital marketing fundamentals/accessibility standards.
- Experience leading teams to achieve goals.
- Proactive and adaptable, with a passion for continuous learning and improvement.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Office 365 products and applications.
- Proficiency in content analytics tools (Google Analytics, Semrush or equivalent).
- Familiarity with social media (e.g., Sprout Social), project management (e.g., Trello) and design (e.g., Canva, Adobe InDesign/Illustrator) software.

- Ability to travel to meetings and/or annual conference.
- Ability to work outside of normal hours as needed.
COMPENSATION: Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and location. We target most new hire offers between the minimum up to the middle of the range. A reasonable estimate of the current range is listed below.
Salary Range: $90,000 - $106,000 - $117,000 per year.
