A public health organization in the Capital Region is currently seeking a new, licensed Physical Therapist (PT) to join their growing team in Albany.

About the Opportunity:

• Assignment Length: Ongoing
• Schedule: Monday to Friday
• Hours: 8:30am to 4:30pm or 9am to 5pm
• Setting: Public Health

Responsibilities:

• Conduct a comprehensive review of Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics, and Supply requests for Medicaid recipients to determine if the service falls within the scope of coverage of the Medicaid Program and NYS Regulation
• Render decisions that ensure the requested item is appropriate to meet the individual's medical needs
• Provide supporting evidence in written format and represent the NYS Medicaid Prior Approval Department via telephone
• Review appropriate combinations of medical services and is instrumental in identifying methods to prevent fraud and abuse
• Work closely with Physicians, outside stakeholders, and Medicaid members via written and telephonic correspondence
• Perform other duties, as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree
• Active NYS Physical Therapist (PT) license
• Knowledgeable of NYCRR Title 10 and 18 regulations
• Experience in prior approval of medical supplies/equipment/services
• Experience in examination of medical records, documentation, and proposed treatment plans for medical necessity
• Microsoft Office proficient
• Solid assessment and documentation skills
• Great interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong attention to detail
• Highly organized
