Job Description

Job Title: Executive DirectorLocation: Washington-SeattleHours: 40 hours per weekAbout Bailey-Boushay House: Opened in 1992, Bailey-Boushay House (BBH) was the first facility in the nation to be built expressly to meet the complex needs of people with HIV/AIDS at end of life. Our inpatient services, licensed as a skilled nursing home, comprises 35 single rooms and serves patients with complicated end-of-life issues including ALS, Huntington's disease, MS, cancer, and HIV. BBH also opened an outpatient program in 1992 targeting clients who are the most medically and socially frail of those with HIV/AIDS.Today, over 400 individuals receive support from BBH's inpatient and outpatient programs annually. Almost all these individuals have multiple issues including mental illness, homelessness, substance use, history of incarceration, and lack of community support. BBH is staffed by 160 individuals and 130 volunteers and has over a $17 million annual budget.Position Overview: The Executive Director provides strategic leadership in assessing, developing, and implementing plans, programs, and services that improve financial performance/productivity, maximize effective utilization of resources, enhance patient outcomes/service satisfaction, assure compliance with all regulatory requirements, and generate a competitive advantage for BBH.Key Responsibilities:Operational Accountability: Plans, directs, and evaluates programs, systems, operations, and resources to assure the safe and appropriate delivery of patient care.Develops formal strategic/tactical plans for short- and long-term business/capital planning, seeks funding opportunities, and directs project management efforts.Ensures consistent practices relating to clinical/administrative operations, customer service, and quality/performance improvement initiatives.Leads and staffs the BBH Board of Directors in strategic planning, fundraising, and community relations.Staff Management and Development: Plans, directs, and evaluates the work of subordinate management staff ensuring adequate staffing levels to meet budgetary and operational objectives.Relationship Building/Marketing: Works collaboratively with the Marketing/Communications team to develop effective strategies and promotional materials.Resource Management/Budget Administration: Identifies and optimizes resources to achieve BBH goals, oversees financial, budget, and productivity information.Regulatory Compliance: Ensures full compliance with legal and regulatory standards and keeps abreast of changing requirements impacting assigned functions.Minimum Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration or related field, and a minimum of seven years of progressively responsible recent work experience in a home health agency, hospice, or related healthcare program, including five years in a management/leadership capacity.
