Manual Machinist Status : Full-Time (1st and 2nd shifts available)

Job Summary :
The Manual Machinist performs precision machining operations, ensuring high-quality parts by setting up and operating manual milling and turning machines. This role includes troubleshooting, diagnosing, and making mechanical adjustments or repairs as needed. The machinist will inspect finished products to meet blueprint specifications and maintain equipment for optimal performance.
Essential Functions :
- Plan machining operations by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, and specifications.
- Identify necessary fixtures, attachments, and tools, and mount them to the machine before beginning cutting operations.
- Set up and operate mills and lathes efficiently.
- Verify incoming work orders for correct materials.
- Maintain product specifications by monitoring machine operations, taking measurements, troubleshooting issues, and adhering to quality assurance procedures.
- Perform calculations using basic math, geometry, and trigonometry.
- Document and communicate actions to maintain continuity between shifts.
- Detect and address machine malfunctions or defects in equipment, measuring instruments, or tools promptly.
- Perform preventive maintenance on machinery to ensure smooth operation.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments and maintain accurate dimensional tolerances per drawings.
- Adhere to safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe work environment.
- Document production and quality data in logs.
- Work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace.

Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent required; a 2-year technical college degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in machine tool trades.
- Proficiency with horizontal milling machines.
- Familiarity with measuring tools, gauges, and cutting tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and routers.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage complex projects independently with minimal supervision.
- Adaptability and enthusiasm for working in dynamic, changing environments.
- Must pass a post-offer drug screen and background check.
