Our client is a government agency who is looking for an experienced Bridge Engineering Project Manager to join their team. This role will be hybrid and will be based out of Helena, MT.


Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Bridge Engineering Project Manager to lead the planning, design, and execution of bridge engineering projects. In this role, you will oversee all aspects of bridge construction and rehabilitation, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in bridge engineering, proven leadership abilities, and a track record of managing complex infrastructure projects.


Key Responsibilities:


Project Leadership & Management:

  • Lead and manage the entire lifecycle of bridge engineering projects from initiation to completion.
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring alignment with client expectations and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate and manage resources, including internal engineering teams, contractors, consultants, and vendors.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, addressing any issues or delays that arise.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to bridge design and construction.

Design & Technical Oversight:

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance in the design, analysis, and modification of bridge structures.
  • Review design calculations, drawings, and specifications to ensure accuracy and feasibility.
  • Collaborate with design teams to incorporate innovative and cost-effective engineering solutions.
  • Oversee the preparation of engineering reports, studies, and assessments for bridge projects.

Risk Management & Safety:

  • Identify potential project risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and standards on-site and during project execution.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings to ensure quality control and project adherence to design specifications.

Stakeholder Management & Communication:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
  • Maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and consistent project updates.
  • Address client concerns and resolve any project-related issues promptly and professionally.
  • Facilitate collaboration and communication between various project stakeholders, including architects, contractors, local authorities, and subcontractors.

Financial Management & Reporting:

  • Oversee project budgets, ensuring effective cost control and financial oversight.
  • Prepare and present regular project status reports to senior management and clients.
  • Assist with contract negotiations and manage change orders, ensuring that projects remain within budgetary constraints.


Qualifications:


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain one is preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in bridge engineering and construction management.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale bridge projects, including design, construction, and rehabilitation.
  • Strong understanding of bridge design codes, safety standards, and construction practices.
  • Experience with project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Procore, Primavera).

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • In-depth knowledge of structural engineering principles, materials, and construction methods.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to navigate complex engineering challenges.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations and permitting processes for bridge projects.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to travel to project sites as needed.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control.
  • Knowledge of the latest trends and advancements in bridge engineering and construction technologies.
