POSITION DESCRIPTION: Verifies and keeps records of incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties.
- PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
- Determines method of shipment. Examines shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Routes items to departments and examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
- Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Other duties as assigned.

- PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock. The employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment.
