Pride Health is hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP or AMT required) to support our client’s medical facility based in Grosse Pointe Woods, MI.
This is a contract position with the possibility of extension and a great opportunity to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization ! The role is temp-to-perm for 11+ months , offering a potential pathway to a permanent position.
Location: Grosse Pointe Woods, MI
Schedule: 3rd shift. 8:30 pm - 7 am.
Every other weekend rotation. Sat and Sun night so there will be 3 days during the week
Pay Range: $35-42.60(Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.) The rate is based on years of DIRECT EXPERIENCE as listed in the resume
Responsibilities-:
- Perform laboratory testing in areas such as Coagulation, Hematology, Urinalysis, and Blood Banking, ensuring high-quality results.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of test results, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
- Accurately document test results and patient information in laboratory records.
- Adhere to safety standards and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe working environment.
- Properly handle, process, and store patient specimens for analysis.
- Communicate effectively with medical teams to clarify results or discuss patient care.
- Monitor inventory levels of reagents and supplies, ordering materials as needed.
- Troubleshoot issues with laboratory procedures, equipment, or test results.
- Participate in ongoing training to stay current with advancements in laboratory practices.
Education Required:
- A bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Chemical , Biological , or Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology is required.
- Associate degree in MLT is also acceptable.
- BSMT (Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology) is preferred.
- CLS (Clinical Laboratory Science) or MLS (Medical Laboratory Science) degrees are also acceptable.
- If the candidate holds only a BS in Biology or Chemistry , at least 1 year of previous medical lab experience is required.
