Job Description

We are seeking a Host   to join Forbes Four Star restaurant, Restaurant Chef and Proprietor Angie Mar’s restaurant, Le B., located in Greenwich Village. Helmed by Chef/Restaurateur Angie Mar, the focus of Restaurant Le B. is continental cuisine for the modern diner. Utilizing classic French technique and both Chinese and Japanese ingredients, the restaurant pays homage to the French classics, whilst displaying modernity and evolution. 

Individuals must be reliable, outgoing and committed to providing excellent hospitality to our guests. The ideal candidate is someone who embodies hospitality and humility while providing an excellent guest service experience in a fast-paced environment and is interested in growing and learning with us. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and seat guests quickly and in a professional manner; ability to comfortably engage in natural dialogue with guests
  • Provide support to the front of house team by directing guests through the dining room with grace
  • Maintain status updates to assist with running the door efficiently by being aware of service flow, dining timing, and adjust for each guest’s individual needs 
  • Keep coat check organized
  • Exacting attention to the cleanliness of the host area and its surrounding environment
  • Interact with various departments regularly and should be able to communicate effectively and respectfully with your co-workers & managers
  • Ability to speak clearly and articulately on the telephone, providing information and answering questions for callers, while focusing on etiquette and conveying a sense of calm 
  • Support other areas of the restaurant as requested, such as completing financial transactions, stock work, cleanup and documentation
  • The hours and schedule for this position will vary by week depending on business needs

Required  Qualification:

  • Minimum of 1 year working in a Manhattan, fine-dining restaurant required (Michelin preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Previous experience with Resy and OpenTable, preferably also with Toast
  • Schedule flexibility, willing to work afternoon, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • A friendly, outgoing personality and enjoy social interaction with a can-do attitude
  • Passion for restaurants, food and hospitality, and the job
  • Have an eye for detail and care in regard to the restaurant's appearance and cleanliness
