Description Summary:
The Department of Management, Marketing and Logistics in the College of Business and Public Affairs seeks a highly motivated academician to serve as an Assistant or Associate Professor of Sports Management. This is a full-time, 9-month faculty position. The rank and tenure status of the position is negotiable based on qualifications. The successful candidate will adhere to the university's educational philosophy and work collaboratively with colleagues and professional peers. Expected participation in university meetings that relate specifically to faculty. Faculty perform instruction-related duties and responsibilities promptly and per the college's mission, policies, and procedures.
Examples of Duties Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Sports Management.
- Recruit and advise undergraduate and graduate students.
- Participate in research and other scholarly activities.
- Mentor graduate students in research.
- Assist with accreditation preparation, site visits, and accreditation annual reporting.
- Actively participate in departmental and college activities.
- Serve on college and department committees.
Typical Qualifications Minimum Position Requirements (including certifications, licenses, etc.):
- Ph.D. in Sports Management or equivalent
- One (1) - Three (3) years post-secondary teaching experience.
Supplemental Information Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to teach at the post-secondary level.
- Knowledge of current research in Sports Management.
- Must have expertise and qualifications specific to the teaching area of Sports Management.
