Job Summary

As a

Physical Therapist

at Merit Health River Region, you will be responsible for evaluating, planning, and administering therapeutic procedures as prescribed by a referring physician. You will develop individualized treatment plans, provide therapy, and reassess patient progress regularly while maintaining thorough documentation. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with an interdisciplinary team to provide high-quality care in a professional, patient-centered environment.

Essential Functions

Evaluate & Plan:

Conduct thorough evaluations of patients to assess needs and create personalized treatment plans.

Administer Therapy:

Provide safe, effective therapy treatments and document interventions accurately.

Reassess & Adjust:

Regularly reassess patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.

Documentation & Collaboration:

Maintain precise and detailed documentation for evaluations, treatment plans, progress, and billing. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Patient & Family Education:

Educate patients and families on therapeutic exercises and post-treatment care.

Maintain Safety & Cleanliness:

Operate therapy equipment safely and maintain a clean, safe environment.

Compliance & Adaptability:

Adhere to facility policies and standards, including safety and infection control procedures. Adapt to changes and collaborate effectively within the team.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy (Required).

Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) (Preferred).

Experience:

0-2 years of experience in physical therapy (Required).

Licenses & Certifications:

PT - Physical Therapist license in the state of employment (Required).

BCLS - Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire (Required).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong understanding of physical therapy principles and therapeutic techniques.

Ability to develop and implement effective treatment plans.

Proficiency in therapy equipment and technology for documentation and billing.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with patients, families, and team members.

Organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.

Commitment to professional development and adherence to ethical standards.
