Job Details

We’re seeking an experienced Controller to take the reins of our financial operations. This role requires a leader who understands both the numbers and the bigger picture—someone who can align accounting processes with business strategy while fostering a culture of teamwork and operational efficiency. Construction industry experience is highly valued, but the ability to collaborate effectively and provide insightful financial leadership is just as important.

What You'll DoOversee all financial operations, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and financial reportingEnsure compliance with licensing, tax requirements, and contract obligationsReview project cost reports and financial schedules to support strategic decision-makingManage banking relationships, cash flow, and company accountsProvide financial insights and forecasting to executive leadership, including work-in-progress (WIP) reports and other key financial analysesEnsure accurate and timely payroll tax filings, as well as sales tax reporting and complianceLead the year-end financial closeout and annual budget planning processAdvise and support the team on cost allocations, job coding accuracy, and general ledger managementOversee credit applications and financial risk assessmentsWork closely with HR and Operations on insurance and compliance mattersLead and mentor the accounting team, driving process improvements and efficiency

What You BringBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field7-10+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in a construction or project-based environmentStrong understanding of GAAP principles (CPA preferred but not required)Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.)Experience with Sage or other construction accounting software is a plusProven ability to analyze financial data, communicate insights, and collaborate with leadership
