This position offers an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of our high-stakes litigation efforts, primarily focusing on medical malpractice and personal injury cases. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in the courtroom, with significant first chair trial experience. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent negotiation skills, a passion for advocacy, and the ability to manage complex cases from inception through trial and appeal. The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years of practice experience.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of complex medical malpractice and personal injury cases, conducting all phases of litigation from inception through trial and appeal.
  • Develop and implement litigation strategies, conduct extensive legal research, and draft complex legal documents.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, demonstrating exceptional advocacy skills and a deep understanding of the rules of evidence and procedure.
  • Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel, leveraging strong negotiation skills and a keen understanding of case value.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure the effective management of cases.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legal developments and trends in the field of medical malpractice and personal injury law.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal standards and regulations, maintaining the highest standards of professional conduct and ethics.

Qualifications:

  • JD from an accredited law school and a current license to practice law in the jurisdiction.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience as a trial attorney, with a focus on medical malpractice and personal injury cases.
  • Proven record of success in first chair trial experience is required.
  • Exceptional litigation skills, including case analysis, legal research, drafting of legal documents, and courtroom advocacy.
  • Strong negotiation skills, with a proven ability to achieve favorable settlements for clients.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage client relationships and interact with individuals at all levels.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage a large caseload and juggle multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to maintaining the highest ethical and professional standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a collegial and collaborative approach to work.
  • Proficient in legal research tools and software.
