DescriptionThe Director Finance will develop and deliver insights and forecasts focusing on clinical-stage programs, but flexing to support efforts on preclinical/discovery programs. This role requires close collaboration across R&D, Legal, Finance, and CMC, combining deep market understanding with advanced strategic thinking to shape the Company’s growth trajectory.Here’s What You’ll DoOversee the development of annual budgets and monthly forecasts, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.Provide ongoing updates and analysis of actual performance vs. budget/forecast, identifying trends and variances and making recommendations for corrective actions.Develop and present monthly, quarterly reports for executive leadership and board presentations, providing insights into financial performance, risks, and opportunities.Gain deep insights around products and markets of interest through secondary and primary research and data analytics.Develop and maintain systems surrounding accrual of clinical study costs.Act as a trusted thought partner across Research, Development and Clinical stakeholders to contribute forecasting insights in cross-functional forums.Lead the integration of program-level forecasts into broader portfolio models, ensuring alignment with operational and enterprise planning objectives.Stay ahead of industry trends, competitive developments, and market dynamics to provide forward-looking insights and shape the strategic planning processes.Lead ad-hoc financial analyses and provide recommendations for cost optimization, revenue growth, and operational efficiency.Develop forecasts for pipeline programs across all therapeutic areas to inform decision-making from preclinical research through commercialization.Deliver scenario analyses and contextualize uncertainty to support key strategic decisions and leadership planning as well as long-range financial forecasting.Participate in development of information systems to increase efficiencies of the Finance group.Assist with modeling scenarios for income tax planning.Collaborate with technical consultants to document revenue recognition related to research collaborations.RequirementsMinimum Qualifications5+ years of experience in forecasting, analytics or strategic planning within the biopharmaceutical or life sciences industry, with exposure to various stages of drug development highly preferred.Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, life sciences, or a related field.Strong understanding of forecasting, including applications across pipeline programs, inline products, and enterprise planning.Experience in gathering various types of insights (secondary research, primary research, data analytics etc.) and integrating them to inform forecasting assumptions and strategic questions.Demonstrate ability to analyze complex data, and summarize the relevant conclusions plus recommendations in a clear and concise manner.Show confidence and tact that can successfully influence executive and senior leadership teams.Must have strong leadership and team-building skills; and ability to collaborate cross-functionally in an effective manner.Preferred QualificationsStrategic thinking skills with the ability to synthesize complex data and insights into clear, actionable recommendations.Proven ability to partner cross-functionally and influence stakeholders across R&D, Clinical, and Finance.Expertise in building and interpreting strategic forecasts, portfolio models, and scenario planning analyses.Knowledge of therapeutic area landscapes, market dynamics, and competitive intelligence frameworks.Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively convey insights and recommendations to executive leadership.Experience supporting enterprise-level financial and operational planning processes.Salary Description:
