We are partnering with an Asset Management client seeking a Head of Tax. You will manage all tax matters related to the investment activities in the US. You will advise and support investment teams on tax-related issues.Your main tasks will include:Oversee tax matters related to investment activities in the US.Ensure accurate, reliable, and timely reporting of tax-related activities to senior management regarding US operations.Collaborate with colleagues across the organization to manage projects and administrative processes related to tax.Prepare key materials and reports for management and board meetings.Manage relationships with external tax advisors and tax authorities, primarily in the US.Maintain comprehensive knowledge of tax systems, processes, and regulatory developments relevant to the tax function.Provide tax structuring support and advice to investment teams to ensure tax efficiency in new and existing investments.Lead tax due diligence processes and advise on tax matters related to investments and exits, particularly in the US.Coordinate with investment teams across various US locations to support tax-related aspects of new investments.Implement and enforce tax policies, procedures, and guidelines within internal investment processes.Advise on tax implications of strategic initiatives and corporate structures, particularly those involving the US.Tax Compliance and Internal Controls for US Operations:Manage and continuously improve the tax compliance framework, including the documentation of key tax processes and controls.Ensure compliance with US tax laws, including reviewing tax filings prepared by external providers and working with external advisors.Coordinate governance structures for US-based entities, including compliance with group-wide tax considerations.Oversee withholding tax management and coordinate any necessary claims for tax refunds.Assist with transfer pricing documentation and obligations under US tax rules.Maintain a proactive relationship with local tax authorities to ensure smooth communication.Support tax audits and provide responses to inquiries from tax authorities, ensuring proper handling of tax-related matters in collaboration with external advisors.Supporting Responsible Tax Practices:Keep the Responsible Tax agenda up to date with the latest regulatory trends and practices.Support the promotion and adoption of Tax Principles across portfolio companies and investments.Conduct periodic reviews of tax practices, including effective tax rate checks and reports on tax-related activities.Ensure that tax policies and procedures are regularly reviewed, maintained, and updated as necessary.Experience:
10+ years of tax experience in asset management, private equity, or a financial services firm, with a strong understanding of partnership tax and investment taxation.Education:
CPA and with a focus on tax preferred; Master’s in Taxation or a plus.Technical Expertise:
Strong knowledge of U.S. tax law, partnership taxation, corporate tax compliance, and international tax considerations for investment firms.Analytical & Problem-Solving:
Strong ability to interpret complex tax laws and provide practical business solutions.Communication:
