The offices of Kjar, McKenna and Stockalper, LLP are currently seeking Associate Attorney's with advanced skills, preferably with 3-5+ years experience. Experience in insurance defense a must have, medical malpractice, and or elder law a huge plus.

We are offering a $5000. SIGN ON BONUS for a limited time.

You must be interested in joining our thriving Huntington Beach office, where you would primarily practice on one of our Medical Malpractice, Legal Malpractice, General Liability focused teams.

You must be licensed in the state of California to be considered for this position.

Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will have experience handling civil litigation matters. We are currently hiring for the following practice areas:

• Medical malpractice
• Elder defense
• Professional liability
• General liability
• Insurance Defense
• Premise liability Defense

Excellent interpersonal skills, oral advocacy, writing skills, and motivation, are a must. Experience in insurance defense litigation and general familiarity with carrier billing and reporting guidelines is preferred. • JD from an ABA school preferred.
• Admitted to practice law in the State of California - no exceptions.
• 3-5 years of civil defense litigation experience preferred.
• Strong oral and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Team player with great attitude and willingness to learn is essential.

Responsibilities

• Independently work with a Partner on team to manage caseload.
• Conduct legal research using resources such as Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw.
• Regularly handle and review legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, and briefs.
• Conduct legal research, handle discovery and analyze medical and employment records.
• Frequently handle court appearances, depositions and meetings.
• Communicate with clients and provide status reports.
