$130,000.00/yr - $200,000.00/yrOur client, a Juniors & Missy Sportswear company, is seeking a Design Director/Merchandiser to join their team in New York!Responsibilities:Lead the design team in creating seasonal collections that align with market trends, brand identity, and company objectives.Oversee the entire product development process, ensuring high-quality execution from concept to production while meeting budget and timeline goals.Develop product assortments and merchandising strategies that support sales goals and market positioning.Collaborate with sales teams to analyze customer feedback and sales data, adjusting designs and product offerings to optimize profitability.Maintain consistency in brand vision across all collections and product categories.Build and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and retail partners to ensure efficient production and timely deliveries.Negotiate costs and lead times to improve profitability and streamline operations.Mentor and manage the design team, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field preferred.At least 7 years of experience in fashion design and merchandising, with 3+ years in a leadership role.Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in women’s fashion design, trend forecasting, and product development.Extensive knowledge of fashion trends, fabrics, garment construction, and design software (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CAD).Proven ability to develop effective merchandising strategies that drive sales.Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.Strong organizational abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple projects and deadlines.Passion for fashion and a deep understanding of modern consumer preferences.Full time in office.Please submit your resume and portfolio for consideration!Seniority level
