*Job Summary:*
Responsible for the timely completion of all billing functions including maintaining accurate records of all patient accounts, recording charges, and payments, submitting reimbursement requests to all payers, and following up on any denials.
*Duties and Responsibilities:*
* Review and verify patient demographics, insurance information, and medical documentation to prepare accurate and complete claims.
* Enter billing information into the electronic billing system and submit claims to insurance companies or third party payers.
* Follow up on submitted claims to track their status, identify any payment discrepancies or denials, and resolve billing issues.
* Coordinate with healthcare providers, physicians, and insurance companies to gather additional information or clarify billing details.
* Process payments received from insurance companies, patients, or other payers, and post them to patient accounts accurately.
* Respond to inquiries from patients, insurance companies, or other stakeholders regarding billing or reimbursement matters.
* Monitor and analyze accounts receivable to identify and address any outstanding balances or delinquent accounts.
* Stay updated on changes in billing regulations, coding guidelines, and insurance industry practices to ensure compliance and optimize reimbursement.

*Skills*
* Proficiency in medical billing software and electronic health record systems.
* Knowledge of medical terminology, coding (CPT, ICD-10), and billing procedures.
* Understanding of insurance claims processes, reimbursement methodologies, and billing
* regulations.
* Familiarity with insurance plans, including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers.
* Attention to detail and accuracy in entering and reviewing billing information.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to resolve billing issues and denials.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for e?ective interaction with patients,
* providers, and payers.
* Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple responsibilities.
* Knowledge of accounts receivable management and collections processes.
* Adaptability to changes in billing guidelines, regulations, and technology
* advancements.
*Requirements*
* Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in medical billing or healthcare revenue cycle management
* Prefer candidates with experience in Behavioral Health billing.
* Prefer candidates who have completed medical billing school, but will consider experience in lieu of education.
* HS Diploma or equivalent (Associates degree or certification in medical billing preferred)
