Magnet Medical is seeking a travel nurse for a 26-week assignment in Burlington, Vermont.

Job Description & Requirements

• Shift: 12 hours, nights

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide Comprehensive Nursing Care

  • Administer medications and monitor vital signs
  • Perform assessments, collaborate with healthcare teams, and provide patient education

• Patient Assessment and Monitoring

  • Monitor telemetry data to detect irregularities in heart rate and rhythm
  • Assess physical, emotional, and psychological needs of patients

• Medication Administration and Management

  • Administer prescribed medications and monitor patients for side effects
  • Provide pain management interventions and adjust care based on patient response

• Telemetry and Cardiac Monitoring

  • Monitor patients with telemetry units and assist in interpretation of readings
  • Maintain and troubleshoot telemetry equipment

• Wound Care and Post-Surgical Care

  • Provide post-operative care for surgical patients
  • Manage incision sites, administer treatments, and educate patients on post-surgical care

• Patient Education

  • Educate patients and families on disease management and lifestyle modifications
  • Offer guidance on managing chronic conditions

• Collaboration with Healthcare Team

  • Work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare providers
  • Participate in daily rounds to discuss patient progress and care needs

• Emergency Response and Critical Care

  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies
  • Provide immediate interventions, including CPR and ACLS

• Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient information in the electronic health record
  • Ensure patient information is up-to-date and readily available for other healthcare professionals

• Infection Control and Safety

  • Follow infection control protocols to prevent the spread of infections
  • Ensure patient safety by regularly assessing for fall risks and managing medications safely

• Quality Improvement and Continuing Education

  • Participate in hospital quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs
  • Stay current with the latest nursing practices and patient care protocols
