DUTIES:The Ophthalmic Technician will be responsible for but not limited to the following:Provides pre-operative and post-operative care to patients by following standard operating proceduresMeasure eyeglass prescriptionOperate various ophthalmology diagnostic equipmentApplies drops to anesthetize, dilate, or medicate eyesCounsels patients by providing information regarding treatment, use of drops and drugsEnsures confidentiality by completing and safeguarding medical recordsProvide quality patient care, excellent communication and customer serviceHelp generate leads towards laser vision correction surgeryCreates a comfortable and welcoming environment for our patientsPerform routine instrument maintenanceOpen to change and willing to take on additional responsibilities as needed.Strong interpersonal skillsTaking patient medical historyVisual acuity measurementRefractometry (measurements for the glasses prescription)Tonometry (measure eye pressure)Measure pupil size and reactivityTest and measure eye muscle functionVisual field testingMeasure corneal thickness, curvature, and topographyRetinal nerve fiber layer measurementRetinal thickness and topographyFluorescein angiographyA and B-scan ultrasonographyAssist with contact lens fitting, and patient instructionPrepare for and assist with in-office proceduresSurgical assisting
