Position Overview: The Senior Planner will manage supplier on time delivery by tracking step-by-step production and shipments. This role will ensure all inventory is aligned with jobs to meet the needs of the customer. You will work directly with management and customers for an on-time, quality product.
Primary Responsibilities & Duties:
  • Convert the output of the MRP process to supplier schedules, ensuring EVERY production supplier receives an updated release EVERY week
  • Act as the primary plant contact for the supply base
  • Ensure the supplier cum shipped is aligned with our cum received and that all shipments have been accounted for in the ERP system
  • Supervise any supplier material/fabrication obsolescence claims
  • Manager any supplier shortage situations
  • Ensure the planning parameter used in the ERP system accurately reflects reality for the supply base
  • Maintain the supplier On Timie Delivery metric (OTD)using the MPM system
  • Establish safety stock for supplied components within the ERP system based on the supplier's historical ability to ship on time
  • Manage the supply base to ensure the proper use of logistic routing instructions, timely border crossing when applicable and a level loaded receiving schedule exists
  • Monitor inbound supplier EDI to ensure the supply base is shipping as scheduled
  • Work with the Corporate Purchasing and IT teams to ensure all suppliers are EDI capable
  • Assist in the Management of the ECN process
  • Support the engineering change process as required by the Supply Chain Manager
  • Participate with the SCM team to achieve targets, goals, and objectives
  • Ensure that new parts are set up properly in LN and the P.O. Integration process
  • Observe all safety and OSHA procedures and standards; maximum lifting of 25lb without assistance; PPE is required at times
  • Other duties as assigned
Preferred Education & Experience:
  • One year or more in an automotive scheduling role
  • College degree in business management or related field
  • APICS certification
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, LN, MFG PRO, with Oracle a plus
  • Proficient with MS Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-team environment at all levels

  • Possess strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with all levels across the organization to influence performance
