Sequoia DC is currently seeking enthusiastic, hospitality minded banquet captains to join our team!
Located on the banks of the Potomac River in Washington, DC, the floor-to-ceiling windows offer magnificent views of Arne Quinze’s large-scale, site-specific sculpture in the garden, the Kennedy Center, Roosevelt Bridge, Roosevelt Island, Key Bridge, and the Virginia skyline. The main dining room features Hitoshi Kuriyama’s neon and glass vacuum tube light installation. Enjoy some of the finest American cuisine in D.C. on the mezzanine, outside on the terrace, or in the private state room, as well as our collection of contemporary art on display throughout the restaurant.
Essential Responsibilities and Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience managing large-scale banquets (500-1000+ guests) in a high-volume hospitality environment.
- Actively participates in all training programs and consistently meets training expectations.
- Establishes positive relationships with guests by making them happy.
- Conducts daily dining room inspections.
- Reviews, understands and communicates guest-preference data to appropriate persons.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and coordinate banquet staff efficiently.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities to ensure seamless event execution.
- Knowledge of banquet service standards, food safety regulations, and proper table setups.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills to provide a high-quality guest experience.
